Tampa in April

Hi everyone, me and a few buddies are coming down to Tampa in April for a weekend to see the Sox play the D%26#39;Rays. We have never been to Tampa before, we are in our late 20%26#39;s and we want to go out and party a little after Friday %26amp; Saturday nights games. Where should we look into getting a hotel, is YBOR City the only good nightlife in the area, how are the hotels around there? Is there any nightlife around the St Pete Beach or Clearwater areas? Thanks very much for your help.

Tampa in April

There is plenty of nightlife in downtown St Pete where Tropicana Field is located...there is a Best Western, Rennasiance Vinoy, and Hilton downtown St. Pete, all about 10 blocks from Trop Field. Central Ave has numerous cafes, restaurants, bars, etc(Cafe Alma, The Lobby, Midtown Sundries, The Independant, Rare olice, Mastrys, Fotunatos After Dark, Ceviches, Jannus Landing, State Theater. BayWalk is an entertainment complex with several clubs including Martini Bar and Dan Marinos Tavern. You guys wont be dissapointed with St. Pete. Beaches are about 15 minutes(St. Pete is on the Bay, the Gulf is on the other side)

In Tampa(about a 25 minute ride from Trop Field) is alot more. SOHO and Hyde Park districts, Downtown/Channelside district, International Plaza/Westshore district and of course, Ybor City.

So the choice is yours, stay near the Field and party, or stay in Tampa and drive to the Trop for the games.
