We are a small family, our 8 year old has been battling cancer and we promised him that we would take him of a wonderful trip to see Mickey Mouse when he is well enough to go. God willing, that will be late September this year. We have found an airfare from Brisbane to Orlando with a stopover at Los Angeles so to surprise him we are going to go to both Disneyland, Anaheim and Disneyworld, Orlando but wont tell him until we are on the plane.
We need some help finding accommodation that is scrupuously clean in Anaheim and Orlando, reasonably close to the parks and reasonably priced.
Does any aussies out there know where we can get hopper passes online that are reliable in their delivery and discounted.
Thankyou all for your help, this is a confusing time trying to get a good deal but Oh, so wonderful and exciting.

Hello dumbotheelephant(cute)
I%26#39;m sorry to hear of your 8 years olds battle with cancer, I pray he beats this disease and lives a long happy life.
For your Anaheim question I would go to the Disneyland forum for accomdations questions. However I have to stay I have been to both Disneyland and Disneyworld and I feel a stop at Disneyland wouldn%26#39;t be necessary as Disneyworld offers so much more and you would also be able to get in all that Disneyland has to offer at Disneyworld saving you money and time. My recommendation would be to spend some time in California enjoying the other attractions it has to offer such as the beautiful ocean! Check out the California forums for all that Calfornia has to offer.
For another site with a wealth of Disneyworld information go to www.disneyworld.com and www.allearsnet.com
To be closest to the parks in Orlando your best bet is to stay on a Disney property where you will also be able to receive free transportation to and from the airport and also to all four Disney parks including Downtown Disney. My favorite moderate priced Disney resort is the Port Orleans Riverside. Check it out at
www.disneyworld.com
And maybe someone can give you a helpful aussie site to help you along also.
Any other questions don%26#39;t hesitate to ask!

I too am so sorry to hear of your little boys illness and will keep him in my prayers. He will have such a great time. Disney truly is a magical place where you can forget your worries if only for a time.
I agree with healin1 that it would not be necessary to go to Disneyland if you are coming to DisneyWorld. Disney World is huge and has so much more than Disneyland. They have 4 major theme parks and 2 water parks. You could not go wrong staying in any Disney resort as far as cleanliness goes. All of their resorts (from the value resorts to the deluxe resorts) are extremely clean. That is one reason I love Disney. Everything is so clean.
If you decided not to go to Disneyland, you could always spend that money on also going to Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure/SeaWorld while in Orlando. It would give a greater variety than doing both DisneyLand and Disney World.
Just something to think about. Hope you guys have a fabulous trip.
I to have been to both parks a number of times, and your going to be saying to yourself why did I ever stop at DisneyLAND after seeing what DisneyWORLD is like, they are like 2 different worlds. Spend whatever money you were going to spend in CA and use it to stay longer in FL,or stay at a better hotel or anything, but don%26#39;t stick to your plan I think your%26#39;ll be disappointed.
Last I was out at Disneyland I stayed onsite at the Disneyland Hotel and it was very clean. Somewhat expensive though. As Disneyland is so much smaller than WDW, the hotel was adjacent to the CA version of DTD. There%26#39;s a good ESPN place there to play all kinds of games that I really enjoyed. Great for kids.
I too would suggest possibly seeing Seaworld or IOA at Universal rather than doing the Magic Kingdom, which is almost identical to Disneyland.
The onsite hotels at WDW are probably the cleanest around short of a luxury resort. Another option, if you%26#39;re driving, is a condo in a place like Windsor Hills with it%26#39;s extensive resort like facilities and very short distance to WDW. Onsite would be far more convenient, but the condo would be a nice break from a room and very cost effective.
Best wishes for you and your son.
If you are considering looking at some of the attractions in LA . Rather than doing Disneyland I would go for the Universal stuidios in LA. These are the ';Orignal'; studios and much better than the florida version They have acres of back lots and you will reconise lots of the flims that were made there. The florida version is just a knock up for the tourist. the LA site is a working studio this is where M,A,S,H, and Jaws were made. There is also Knotts Berry farm, quite an interesting park bit differant to most of the others.
Great idea XR, I agree dumbo, check out Universal in California!
I went to Disneyland last year and stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim. The rooms were nice, big and clean. They offered a free shuttle to and from Disneyland. Got a good rate by booking through Qantas Holidays, something like pay for 4, stay for 5. I remember I was shocked at how cheap it was. Only downside is that there is only one restaurant at the hotel and nothing else in walking distance.
Haven%26#39;t been to WDW yet, so can%26#39;t compare (am going next month). I did think that Universal was better in LA than Disneyland, so you might want to consider going there instead.
We have been to all the parks in CA. I love disney-because it%26#39;s Disney and California Adventure for the rides. Knotts Berry is smaller and has some pretty good rides. Magic Mountain has intense rides, but not a good family feeling. Also dirty and lots of teens/early 20%26#39;s in groups. Disney in CA is easy cause you can find nice inexpensive hotels close by and all have shuttles. We stayed at Comfort suites last time we were there and it was great, clean, very family, free breakfast and shuttle.
Have a magical vacation and best wishes.
Oh ya, I loved Universal in LA. Probably my favorite park of all time. (haven%26#39;t been to Orlando yet) Talk about clean. Lot%26#39;s of shows and my favorite-- the backlot tour!
