Another question about Magic Your Way Dining

I have reading all the postings on the magic your way dining. I have also read postings on wdwinfo.com. On that website a lot of postings say that when you purchase the dining plan, all the meals are lumped together, whether it is an adult or child.

When they give you the amount that you are entitled to based on the number of nights that you are staying at their resort and the number of people on your reservation, they don%26#39;t differentiate between adult or child table service et cetera. Some people were saying that they used the child%26#39;s table service for an adult and just paid for the child%26#39;s meal.

Is it true that they just put all the ts and cs and snacks together? I know that people are supposed to be honest about it, but from the other site it seems like Disney allows it.

Does anyone know if that is true or does Disney differentiate between adult and child.

I am planning a trip for the summer months and was thinking about getting the dining plan. The trip would be for 2 adults and 2 kids. The kids are 3 %26amp; 6. If I purchase the dining plan for my 3 year old, I know that she%26#39;s not going to eat that much so whatever table service meals are left, I can use towards my signature restaurants that I want to go to or character meals or dinner shows.

Any advice on this subject will help because I want to make my reservations as soon as possible. Can I just book the hotel with park tickets now and add the dining on later. Someone said that you can add the dining on up to five days before your trip, is that true?

Thank you once again.

Another question about Magic Your Way Dining

We just returned last night from 7 days at POPCentury. There were a lot of people that used the meal plan. I chose not to because I felt I did better paying per meal rather then using the plan. We usually ate brunch rather then breakfast and then ate supper. We ate several meals off site and felt we saved more money by doing so. I don%26#39;t think we spent more then 60.00 a day on food for 2 adults and 2 kids ages 4 and 9. I shared some of my meals with the littlest one and they ate kid portion meals that were far less cheaper. The little one got to eat for free at Ponderosa on Universal ave. I also rented a car and picked up cheap drinks at Walmart and also bought a 4 dolar insulated cooler and used our own drinks. We saved a bundle doing that. 2 hot chocolates at MGM cost me 9 dollars! It costs almost 5 bucks for a hot chocolate and a coffee at Pop Century. Going to the super Walmart for laundry soap, pop and fruit saved us a bundle! I now know what to do better next time. I want to save on things that I can so I have more money to spend on souvenirs!

We used the dining plan in Dec. My children are 7 and 10 so the 10 year old was considered an adult. He always ordered off the regular menu and my 7 year old ordered off the kids menu. I dont think you can use a childs table service for an adult unless the adult ordered off the childs menu. We did book park and hotel tickets first and added the dining plan later but it was a few weeks before we left. Have a great time

yes the meals are just lumped together. yes if you want to you can pay for a childs meal instead of using meal plan. Just make sure you let server know immediately so different tickets will be made.

I believe that you have to get your dining when you make your reservations. It is well worth it. And, you will probably do a couple character meals.

talkdisney has a forum decicated to the dining at disney.
