My wife and kids were down last spring and we stopped at a restaurant (Tiki Bar?) that was on the gulf side. Real hole in the wall bar overlooking/on the water with GREAT FOOD.
I am visiting again in April with my two sisters and parents for their 50th anniversary. Would love to take them there. But, I am not sure if that is the name and location. I first read about it in trip adviser about this time last year.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Restaurant Marathon/Islamorado?
There are several places that could meet that description.
The place in Marathon is a bar that we call the Island Tiki Bar. It is bayside at the start of Marathon about MM 54.5. They had been fixing the place up, but it got wiped out in Wilma, and I%26#39;m guessing that it%26#39;s been rebuilt.
The Quay is right next door, and has a nice restaurant area before you get to their Tiki Bar. That place also got wiped out in Wilma, and last I heard they were not going to rebuild.
Restaurant Marathon/Islamorado?
Thanks, are both of these next to each other? I seem to remember the Quay as being next door?
To others has it been rebuilt?
The Island is rebuilt and going strong. The Quay looks about the same as it did the day after Wilma.
Hallelujah! The service can be exasperatingly slow but the food is good and the view is fantastic! This is always one of our favorite lunch spots in the area. Last time we were there we spotted a marine iguana, about 3 feet long, suning himself on a nearby rock.
