Can anyone give me the name of a reputable vacation rental company, specifically for oceanfront houses in the area?

In answer to your other post, YES, Destin is definetly a family town. For things to do, start by selecting Destin Attractions on the left side of this website.

If you%26#39;re not familiar with the area, Destin, Sandestin and the Beaches of South Walton all flow one into the other. So when you start looking at lodging, one is not any better or worse than the other (based on geography). When you start reading descriptions that say accross the street from the beach, they are probably talking about scenic Highway 98 or Old Hwy 98. It%26#39;s a two lane road that is not difficult to cross, but by not being ';on'; the beach, the rates are significantly better.

When you narrow your choices down to about three or less, post again and some folks will offer you their points of view on those choices, but otherwise, way to many to comment on. My personal favorite is www.vrbo.com . I feel you get a lot more for your money by dealing directly with the homeowners. It%26#39;s very well self-policed because it%26#39;s very competitive and they have to offer the best product they can.
