nice hotel, reasonable price

My wife has a 1 day conference in March at the Conrad Hotel in Miami (Brickell Avenue)...prices there are over $300 per night. Can anyone give me a nice Hotel in Miami or Miami Beach at a reasoanble rate?

Checking this site, I%26#39;d say the Downtown Courtyard Mariott is close enough to get to your conference and much less expensive. There are a lot of fun places to check out in the area... due west:

Miami%26#39;s FIRST Bar - with Liquor License #1 -Tobacco Road (since 1912) Open til 5am

626 S Miami Ave (305) 374-1198

Great pub - live bands - fun crowd - patio dining - all night long

On the same street, a FABULOUS seafood restaurant for lunch or dinner:

The River Oyster Bar - 650 S Miami Ave, Miami, 33130 - (305) 530-1915

I hate to say it but their pulled BBQ pork sandwich makes the fish fearing crowd weep with delight - home made potato crisps!!

Due north - just over the Miami River Bridge on Flagler Street, check out La Loggia for lunch or dinner (light Italian fare) La Loggia Restaurant - 68 W Flagler St, Miami, 33130 - (305) 373-4800

If she is conferencing, you can check out the Miami Art Museum/ Florida historical Museum on Flagler Street or perhaps spend the day at Bayside Marketplace and maybe try one of their fun day cruises for some sightseeing.

Grab a cab or the nearby (free) elevated peoplemover monorail and get off at the Bayside Marketplace stop. The train takes a circular path all around the city so you can%26#39;t get lost - unless you want to!

Enjoy!

I%26#39;ve stayed in the Wyndham on Miami Beach which was nice. I got a ByRequest rate(their membership program) of $99.00 for a 15th floor room with a view of the ocean. it%26#39;s a 3-4 star hotel.
