Tickets for the Parks - When do I Buy?

We%26#39;re off to Orlando in July for 2 weeks and we were advised by our travel agent to purchase the park passes before we go. Is this really the best idea or is someone just trying to boost her sales bonus? Should we wait till we get there and see what offers they have? We%26#39;ve never been before so we%26#39;ll try and go to all the typical places like Magic Kingdom, Universal, Sea World, etc.

Tickets for the Parks - When do I Buy?

If you are from the UK, there are products available to you at home that you can not buy here. You would need to take that into consideration.

Otherwise, it is easy enough to check Disney%26#39;s prices on their website and compare them to the prices your travel agent is quoting, to see if you are getting a savings.

For your Universal/Islands of Adventure and Sea World admission, you might want to consider the Orlando Flex Ticket. It gives you unlimited admission for 14 days to those three parks plus Wet N Wild water park, all for less money than 4 one day admissions (considering the one day ticket prices are up to over $60!). So even if you are using the ticket for less than 14 days, as long as you use it for four days, you come out ahead on the cost.

I think your best bet would be to combine the Flex ticket with a four day base Magic Your Way ticket to Disney. This will give you one full day at each Disney park, and the balance of your time at the parks on the Flex Ticket. If you find you need more time at Disney, you can add another day or two to your base ticket. Just make sure you do it before you leave on the fourth day.

Tickets for the Parks - When do I Buy?

Travel agents always say buy in advance because they make money on them.

We go against the grain and don%26#39;t buy multi day tickets because we like to make our mind up when we get there and know what the weathers like.

I know of many people who come back with un-used days and never return to use them so it%26#39;s actually worked out dearer.

I agree with fla4fun with only one little difference. We are going for 2 weeks like you and have decided to buy the 4 park base ticket but we are buying the 5 park Orlando flexipass which also includes entrance to Busch Gardens. That is one of our fave parks and is worth the hour/hour and a half drive.

babymac- isn%26#39;t that 5 park flexipass only something that is offered by those vacation sales people where you have to go to their seminars to get the tickets?

If not, where can I buy these?

Hi o1livejoy,

You can get the details of the 5 park orlando flexticket on the universalorlando.com site- it is $234.95 per adult and $199.95 per kid.

I saw the cheapest prices for it however on mouse ears.

Hope this helps

Audrey

sorry I%26#39;ve got a few extra letters in your name!

there are many websites with discount tickets. my favorites are..www.ticketmania.com and travel-affiliates.com. you can order the tickets ahead of time %26amp; pick the up when you get too orlando or you can wait till you get there and order them. i would wait till your date gets closer just incase something happens. i personally buy tickets off of ebay.com.

Hi badly1004

we have always booked our holidays in Orlando with a company called %26#39;Bon-Voyage%26#39;. They use a company called %26#39;Keith Prowse%26#39; to buy tickets and give us the option to either buy them ourselves over the net or they could, there is no price difference. Over the years we have looked into finding out if we can buy cheaper but to no avail. Friends in Orlando have also asked us to buy theme park tickets for them too as they say they can%26#39;t get them cheaper and with extra bonus days too. If you want to check out them the address is:

www.keithprowse.com

hope this helps....

Thanks, Audrey-

This info was very helpful!

Excellent advice all round. Thanks.

So, on a 2 weeks holiday with 2 adults and a 7 year old how much should we really expect to pay for the parks alone?
