Group of grad students looking to unwind, relax, and get tan for a week. We found a relatively nice place on Holmes Beach. Is this a place where we can have fun, or will we be the youngest people everywhere we go?
How is Anna Maria Island in regard to restaurants/shopping/nightlife? Is there any form of transportation around the island?

Anna Maria Island is very low key..im talkign RELAX big time, there are a few bars on Bradenton Beach and Anna Maria. I woudl defintiltely rent bikes while your there to get around, get to the Sand Bar. You wont be the youngest, as it attracts alot of people from Bradenton and Tampa, but again, its very low key...

I agree. Anna Maria Island is not a partying type of place. If you%26#39;re looking to relax and enjoy yourself, it%26#39;s an awesome area. If I%26#39;m not mistaken there are buses around the area (public transportation) and there are many good restaurants around.
