I am visiting Florida for 10 days in November and planning to stay in the Miami Beach area for 4 nights.
I have been looking on Tripadvisor and made a shortlist of hotels, any advice on what is good / bad would be appreciated:
*Beach Plaza
*Beachcomber
*Essex House
*Clevelander
*Blue Moon
*Ocean Five
*The Park Central
*Winter Haven
*Sherbrook
*Townhouse
*Marlin
Thanks
John

What is your nightly budget, including all the crazy resort taxes, per night? What are you looking for in a hotel? Bar, restaurants? Beach service? Awesome pool? South Beach or the North Beach area?

Best hotels in Miami Beach
I would like to stay somewhere near the nightlife and bars - not too fussed about being on the beach.
Was looking for a nightly rate of approx. $150-$200
Townhouse - awesome, probably $$$$$, great sushi restaurant called Bond Street
Hotel Astor - 2 blocks off the beach, but gr8 hotel
Hotel Nash - excellent hotel, award winning restaurant (pricey)
Clevelander - long known as one of the hot-spots on S.Beach - young partygoing crowd (usually)
Park Central - down at the ';quieter end of s. beach'; across the street from the beach.
The Marlin Hotel - popular in the music industry (close to the studio) big suites available
My clients (typically ad. agencies) like the following:
Raleigh (awesome pool), Delano, Sagamore, National, Shore Club
could be $$$$$, but you never know what specials they are running before the Dec. holiday season starts...
good luck!
