Futura Yatch Club Islamorada

Newbi here..Family(2 kids 7 and 11)headed down to the Keys in March. I have been reading everyting I can on this site, It%26#39;s GREAT info. How to drive from FLL, What beaches to go to, best snorkling, keep the kids away from Key West at night, etc.... but have not found anything on The Futura Yatch Club? ..does anyone have any info on this place...??

I%26#39;ve stayed at Futura in the past. Do you plan on bringing/docking a boat with you? We had our boat with us (which is the reason why we stayed at Futura). It%26#39;s a nice place with a large marina and good slip rentals.

Captruss: We are not bringing our boat , although it would be great. She is put up for the winter. We found Futura on the Web and liked the condo idea rather than a Hotel room.. It%26#39;s so much nicer with the extra bedroom for the kids. I was nervous that I found nothing about it on this site.. It seams to have info on everything. We are planning to use this place as a home base and explore they Keys by land. There is no offical Web Site for the place so other than a few pics it%26#39;s hard to see what it has to offer.

All I remember about the place besides the marina was a pool and a volleyball court. I think they had some playground equipment. The condos were pretty nice and roomy. Our family of 4 slept comfortably. What kinds of activities do you have planned/in mind?

Captruss: Well we%26#39;re booked now at Futura..hope it is a nice enough place. As far as activities go:

We have no reservations yet ...but from reading these forums have a few ideas. #1) Snorkling would like to take a day trip out somewhere and let the kids give it a try. #2) Fishing ..have read there are many kinds. I think we would rather go on a trip where you catch 30 or 40 fish rather than try landing a Tarpon. #3) Key West...since we are so close we need to check it out.. any info on the ';sunset celebration';? #4) Bahia Honda beach #5) Maybe rent a boat for the day. I%26#39;m guessing we%26#39;ll pass on the Doplphin swim and Museums ...but would love to here about what we should not miss. Any thoughts on Food and Bevy%26#39;s?
