We are coming to Destin in June and are looking for a nice hotel on the beach. I have reservations at the Holiday inn on the beach. We are traveling with two small children. Any suggestions? Would like a nice hotel directly on the beach with a pool and it would be nice if it have a pool side bar and eatery.

Most accomodations in Destin are condos. You may be happier with a condo on a less crowded beach.

Gotta agree with previous post. I stay next to the Holiday Inn and the Inn is a zoo at times, though they do have bar, restaurant and kiddie pool. Beware that HI charges a pretty penny for those conveniences.

My suggestion is to try a condo; they give you more breathing room and privacy. Plus you can often get a unit with the washer/dryer within, a big help with youngsters. Who wants to spend their vacation hanging out at the laundromat? Eatery%26#39;s and bars abound! Here are some places to help with your search:

Destin Gulfgate (about 1/2 mile to the east) is very nice and we have stayed there also. Silver shells is also nice. They have lots of units.

No bar needed when you stay in a condo. Full kitchen usually means a big fridge for all your beer and a blender for all the margaritas you can handle. Just be sure to bring a big enough thermos to fit the tequilla and lime goodness!

I have to agree with the previous posters that a condo may be a better option. We stayed at Pelican Beach Resort and really liked it. Great location close to restaurants, shopping, directly on the beach, full kitchen, nice pool w/ kiddie pool, pool bar and deli.

For less that a regular hotel room at the HI, you can get a 1 bedroom condo with a Gulf view, kitchen, and a lot more space.

Baked - the weather has been on and off here. I%26#39;ve gotten out five times since Christmas, I guess that is all I can ask for.

Today is nice out and would be a great day to play, but I forgot my damn sticks at home. I guess since the weather is turning I should have them in my car at all times...
